WALMART ONLINE PICKUP EXPANSION
RETAIL / PANELIZATION
Walmart was investigating alternative delivery methods for adding Pickup and Delivery facilities to existing stores in non-primary markets that would be faster, less disruptive to ongoing store operations, and more cost-effective than conventional construction methods.
MODLOGIQ employed a “Modular-First” design featuring pre-built modular wall panels with completed exterior finishes and pre-assembled ceiling trusses. All modular components were fabricated off site at the same time that site prep was taking place.
This approach greatly reduced disruption—saving hundreds of contractor site trips and eliminating dozens of deliveries that would have been necessary with conventional construction. Installation and assembly took just 4 work days and eliminated approximately 8 weeks of on-site construction activity.
There was zero construction material waste and no packaging or shipping waste—just the plastic sheathing that protected the panels during transport.
MODLOGIQ’s pre-assembled/panelized modular approach cost 15%-20% less than conventional construction would have. Further, the new Pickup and Delivery facility was able to start generating revenue in about half the time that would have been required with a conventional build.
